Are You Tempted to Outsmart Your Common Sense? - Jill Bannon
Our brain loves to look for solutions but sometimes in our attempt to accomplish our goal, we look "over there" for greener pastures with a quick fix.
Because...
~Won't life be better over there?
~Won't I feel like a better person over there?
~Won't all of my worries disappear over there?
When you think "life will be better over there" it's so tempting to try to hurry and jump to the next magic plan to give you that quick fix!
I totally get the appeal of the quick fix but if you listen to your common sense, you know a quick fix is not sustainable.
James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits says, "The Habits You Repeat Everyday Largely Determine Your Health, Wealth, And Happiness." YAS! Real worthwhile change does not happen overnight!
If you're tempted to try a quick fix to lose weight, get fit or find the perfect relationship, ask yourself...
"What could be possible for me if, instead of a quick fix, I committed to the Long Game?"
I promise you the results of consistent small steps that lead to healthy habit change will feel so much sweeter than a quick fix. In the end, playing the Long Game will bring lifelong, sustainable change.
